Steve Jobs will sell in excess of half a million copies via Amazon.com alone

"Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson is a biography of Steve Jobs based on over forty interviews with Jobs and over a hundred with family, colleagues and competitors.

If you haven't been watching anything for the last twenty years, Steve jobs is the guy who built Apple into the technology powerhouse it is today.

Apple have dominated a multitude of software, hardware and gadget markets for many years now and many credit Steve Jobs for much of Apple's success - he was the company's leader after all.

Now, only a few months after his death it is possible to read a book about his life. The book itself was in no way editorially controlled by Jobs. He wanted an honest, independent appraisal to be written.

I think the author succeeded, and judging from the more than 1000 customer reviews (averaging 4 stars), the public agree.

Now, to my prediction. According to RankTracer - Amazon sales analytics and market research, this book is currently selling at an average of a shade under 1500 books per week.

But this is late January - not know for being the busiest time in the world for buying books. Given that the book is still pretty new, I believe it's sales rate will increase steadily and spike over holiday times.

This leads me to the prediction that "Steve Jobs" will sell in excess of 200 000 copies this year on Amazon.com alone.

Overall, that equates (as an estimate) to about 1.5 million copies worldwide (assuming that amazon is slightly less than 15% of total books sales in the US).
